JOB DESCRIPTION
- Prepare and analyze financial statements to provide management with accurate and timely financial information.
- Track and analyze manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead expenses. Monitor variances between standard costs and actual costs and ensure accurate costing of products.
- Assist in developing detailed quarterly budgets and forecasts for manufacturing operations. Monitor performance against budget and forecast and provide explanations for variances.
- Oversee the accounting for inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Perform regular inventory reconciliations and conduct inventory valuation assessments.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. Prepare financial reports for external auditors and government agencies as required.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, such as evaluating the profitability of products, analyzing cost-saving opportunities, and assessing capital investments.
- Identify areas for process improvement in financial reporting, cost accounting, and other financial processes. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with other departments such as Production, Supply Chain, Technical, Human Resource, and Sales to gather relevant financial data and provide insights on financial performance.
- Utilize accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to maintain financial records, generate reports, and streamline financial processes.
- Effectively communicate financial information including presenting findings to management, participating in meetings, and offering guidance on financial matters.
Qualification Required & Experience
- A First degree in Accounting or a Master’s degree in Accounting
- Preferably a Certified Accountant (CA).
- Approximately five (5) or more years of professional experience in a related field.
- Proven skills and experience, especially, in financial management-related activities.
- Ability to develop complex budgets and manage all related financial transactions.
- Experience in financial management systems and processes.
- Advanced computer skills in email, word processing, spreadsheets, the Internet, and familiarity with Management Information Systems,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
